Song of the Crossroads

Song of the Crossroads

At the dawn of the twentieth century, composers across Central Europe forged new musical languages shaped by folk traditions, national identity, and expanding harmonic horizons. Song of the Crossroads explores this remarkable flowering of sacred choral music through works by Janáček, Kodály, Smetana, and other voices from the Czech, Hungarian, Austrian, and neighboring traditions. Though distinct in language and culture, these composers share a compelling spiritual intensity and a deep connection to the musical heritage of their people.

Rich in color, beauty, and discovery, this program featuring the Cor Mundi Chamber Choir and renowned organist Bryan Anderson, celebrates the sacred choral splendor of a region where traditions, cultures, and histories meet.
